The Blue Stones are a Canadian blues-rock duo from Windsor, Ontario, formed in 2011 by Tarek Jafar (vocals, guitar, bass, keys) and Justin Tessier (drums, backing vocals). Known for their gritty, dynamic sound that blends blues, alternative rock, and hip-hop-inspired production, the band first gained attention with their debut album Black Holes, which was reissued in 2018 after signing with Entertainment One. They followed up with Hidden Gems in 2021, produced by Mutemath’s Paul Meany, which marked a stylistic evolution with layered instrumentation and refined songwriting. Their 2022 release Pretty Monster earned a 2024 Juno nomination for Rock Album of the Year, and they continued their momentum with the 2025 album Metro. The Blue Stones have built a reputation for powerful live shows and continually pushing the boundaries of modern rock as a two-piece.
